Support Worker
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Flexible Hours | Full-Time & Part-Time

Position may support clients in their home and in the community.

Support meal planning and preparation based on dietary needs and preferences

Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living space
-
Provide mobility and transfer assistance, including use of mobility aids like walkers or wheelchairs
-
Facilitate goal-setting activities, such as learning new skills or pursuing hobbies
-
Plan and accompany clients on community outings—from coffee shops to local events
-
Use visual aids, apps, or communication boards to help clients express needs and make choices
-
Complete daily logs, incident reports, and updates to personalized care plans
-
Respond with empathy and patience during behavioral or emotional challenges
-
Attend meetings and coordinate with healthcare providers, therapists, and family members
-
Follow safety protocols, privacy policies, regulatory guidelines and agency policies related to client care​

Requirements
-
Education: High school diploma and above
-
English language: read, speak and write fluently
-
Eligible for employment: Proof of eligibility to work in Canada required
-
Experience: minimum 1 year of experience with various disabilities and working with seniors
-
Clean criminal background and vulnerable sector checks within the past 3 months
-
Valid CPR
-
2 employment and 1 personal reference

Additional/Optional
-
Valid class 5 driver’s license and access to a car is preferred
-
Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) course
-
NVCI for Autism
-
Second language

Are you a kindhearted individual who loves making meaningful connections? Join our team as a Companion, providing one-on-one emotional and social support to individuals in their homes or community settings.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with everyday tasks like meal prep, medication reminders, mobility, and personal care

Provide companionship through conversation, games, and shared activities

Support clients during outings, appointments, or community programs

Encourage engagement hobbies and recreational activities

Monitor client comfort and well-being

Foster a safe, respectful, and empowering environment

Requirements
